     Yayoi Sakaki started her classical piano study at the age of 6 in her native city of Tokyo, Japan.  Upon the graduation from high school, she pursued her musical career by moving to Canada to study piano with Edward Parker and harpsichord with Doreen Oak.  The following year she went on to study at the University of British Columbia with Henri-Paul Sicsic. She transferred to the Trinity College of Music in London, England, where she obtained her Bachelor's degree, under the instruction of Ilana Davids.  Yayoi also continued her harpsichord studies with John Henry although her primary interest remained the piano.  She was a regular performer at the Piano Performance Platform Series as well as a frequent participant of masterclasses given by pianists such as John Bingham, David Wilde, Lee Kum-Sing and John O'Conor. Yayoi  completed her Master's degree in piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music studying with Constance Keene and Donn-Alexandre Feder. She has performed extensively in Europe, metropolitan Tokyo area and NY State at venues such as Auditorio Joaquin Rodorigo (Madrid, Spain), Rivoli Theater (Porto, Portugal), Regent Hall (London, England), Klub Muzyki I Literatury (Wroclaw, Poland), Tutuji Hall at Hokutopia and Tiara Koutou Recital Hall (Tokyo,Japan), Performing Arts Auditorium (SUNY-Purchase) and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (New York, NY).  Yayoi has also performed  with Carol Minor as a Minor-Sakaki Piano Duo and has been actively performing as an accompanist.  The recent performance with Valerie Girard (Soprano) and Lawrence Munday (Tenor) at a charity concert for Japanese quake victims organized by the Town of Greenburgh has been broadcasted live on the local cable TV.

Yayoi Sakaki has been a f
aculty member at the Music School of Westchester in suburb of New York City since September 2000. Ms. Sakaki also has been  as a Music Director at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Hartsdale, NY and coordinates their Season's Concert Series.
